CPP Campus Center Market Place | Cal Poly Pomona

The renovation of the second-floor dining area within Cal Poly Pomona’s existing Campus Center transforms approximately 14,000 square feet of the Campus Center Marketplace into a vibrant, contemporary student dining destination. The design reimagines and rebrands the existing food venues to better reflect campus culture and evolving student needs, creating an environment that supports both dining and social engagement.

The layout is organized through low partitions, comfortable seating, and thoughtfully arranged furniture that defines individual zones while preserving openness and flexibility. This balanced approach creates intimate settings alongside adaptable communal areas, encouraging student interaction and accommodating a wide range of dining, studying, and social activities.

Distinct design identities were developed for each marketplace zone, resulting in a dynamic and engaging experience throughout the space. Key architectural interventions include the introduction of new gathering areas, New interior finishes and flooring, and open ceilings that enhance spatial volume and visual interest. Sculpted soffit elements integrated with LED lighting further reinforce the architectural concept and establish a cohesive, modern aesthetic.
