CSUSB – Biology Teaching Labs, San Bernardino

This project transformed approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of vacant science museum space on the first floor of the Chemical Sciences Building into two state-of-the-art Biology Teaching Laboratories. The new labs feature specimen preparation and support spaces fully compliant with current safety codes, tailored specifically for anatomy instruction. To support the specialized laboratory functions, a new mechanical yard was added adjacent to the building, providing safe and efficient mechanical exhaust solutions.

In parallel, an existing specimen storage room (BI 32) on the third floor of the Biological Sciences Building was converted into a Graduate Geology Research Laboratory. The space now includes a fume hood, sink, and safety shower to support advanced research activities. These renovations enhance the Biological Sciences Building’s portfolio of instructional and research facilities, addressing both undergraduate teaching and graduate-level research needs with modern, safe, and flexible laboratory environments.
